The hotel is away from the main Riverfront area. Its as far north as one can get, which means you are not close to the Trolley and you really can't walk anywhere. The room was nice enough, king size bed was great! Unfortunately, not much else about the hotel was great. To get to the pool you have to go up then around a corridor, then down again.. And the corridor air conditioning was never on, it seemed. Also, bring your own towels, the ones you get in the room or pool are thin, raggety and not very big. The hotel's breakfast was a bit if a rip off. Its a not very inspiring buffet and it cost 11 bucks! Take a ride a few blocks away to the First Watch, the breakfast was very nice, people were very friendly and plenty of selections for under 8 bucks.

The hotel is good for the money, and the location. After driving around I realized we could have stayed somewhere just as close for cheaper though. Two complaints: 1. the shuttle is really never available. We were in town for an event at the St. Pete Times Forum and the shuttle was not there when we left or when we got back. 2. I did not like how they try to charge you to park in the parking lot. After paying a little over 100.00 for the room I would have liked not to have to park on the street. Parking is 7.00 bucks but it should be free to hotel guest. 3. (so not two but really three things) They swipe your card and put a hold on your credit card my guess is because you made the arrangements through an independent site like travelocity and not theirs. I have stayed at this hotel three times and both times that I reserved through there sight I did not have to do this. But once I got there this time they requested a credit card so that they could put a 25.00 hold on the card for incidentals. Overall it is not the most fanciest but the lobby is nice and the rooms are clean. If you are looking for a cheaper hotel downtown Tampa this should definitely be an option.

03/10/2009Hotel has been remodeled. much nicer! i visited 2 years ago when hotel was being renovated . rooms are nice with very comfortable beds. food was reasonable and very good selection. ...
Hotel has been remodeled. Much nicer! I visited 2 years ago when hotel was being renovated . Rooms are nice with very comfortable beds. Food was reasonable and very good selection. The breakfast staff in dining room was great. She went out of her way to make sure our child's birthday was a nice one while there. I would recommend for anyone that has a need to be in downtown area.
