Strange but good...
09/12/2009The word "resort" denotes a certain atmosphere. let's face it,this is not a resort.(unless you stay in the condo's,which are lovely) ...
The word "Resort" denotes a certain atmosphere. Let's face it,this is not a resort.(Unless you stay in the condo's,which are lovely) The hotel consists of 3 older buildings,with very small bathrooms(a granite counter top does not make it a deluxe room!!!) The property boasts private beach.If a beach vacation is what you want.. stay in Clearwater/St. Pete. We chose not to eat on site, but heard the food was good! We are experiencing a severe economic downturn at this time,and it was reflected by the conditions of the"Hotel" property.(ie: tennis courts,carpets,spider webs) The staff is very caring and professional. The property is struggling!!! Beautiful condos were built on speculation,this is where you want to stay!!!! They overlook the marina,a manatee family visited everyday, very peaceful and tastefully done. This place is miles from nowhere, if you want to relax at the pool and get away from the world this is the place to be.(Stay in the condos) If you love the beach and restaurants and things to do,you won't be happy here. We were very happy to make trips off property...the local Fish Hut is good, as well as Poppi's for breakfast and lunch.Not too far from St Pete's beach.(1/2 hour or so) Now that I know what to expect, I would stay again for a few nights to hang out and relax.The price was a bargain for the 1 bdrm suite w/full kitchen,living and dining room and a very nice bathroom. Take the Sunset cruise at St. Pete beach for a nice evening on the water!! Peace

This resort is very well maintained, pleasantly staffed, has tons of things to do on property. It is ideal for families or couples who want an affordable, quiet waterfront vacation. From our canal-side room we saw manatees routinely swimming. This is an especially ideal property to stay at for those visitng family in Sun City Center. The on-site restaurant is very nice, typically has an outdoor small band on weekends. We have stayed several times and love it. Staff is very courteous and facility is very nice. They provide you with everything you need for tennis, horseshoes, shuffleboard, etc. They let us use their meeting area to play dominoes. Highly recommend.

The accommodations were clean and well prepared when we arrived. We particularly enjoyed the board walk and private beach area. While we didn’t dine at the resort restaurant, we did peruse the menu and it appeared to be a nice selection at reasonable prices.

We loved our stay at Little Harbour. It's clean, quiet, feels very isolated and 'all-inclusive'-like in that you do not have to leave the premises at any point if you don't want to. Excellent restaurants, bars, private beach, boating, fishing, etc... The room we stayed in overlooked the Gulf and was a beautifully appointed place to stay. Service was friendly and the price unbeatable. Don't rely on your car's navigation for directions once in Ruskin though. Ours took us down a road blocked by a private gate and we had to retrack.

The resort is beautifully appointed, fresh and meticulously maintained. The landscape is so lovely. It's hard to knock it because the investment to build and care to maintain is evident. The beach is not nice, though, and if that is a moderately important part of your vacation, look elsewhere; it's quite a drive to a nice beach. There are many boats in the harbor that are in a state of disrepair, which I think says something. The pools are very small; would be crowded with more than 6 people. The tennis courts do not have nets. If you have an average boat, this is a good stop. If you want to party in a remote location, this is a good place. There were revelers all around us. We were on a family vacation, and while beautiful, it is not at all a good place for that.
